vehicles
As solemn as it may seem to have a full website dedicated to exploring the nature of suffering, the prerogative is not dwell in our own sorrow. The intention here is to deeply understand our predicament so that we may transcend it.
Because suffering has been troubling mankind since the beginning of recorded history, we are in the fortunate position that many men before us have walked this path and developed strategies, tools, and techniques for going beyond the limited, entrapping experience of personal suffering.
These may range from organised religions to psychotherapy, and from meditation all the way to medication or surgery as a last resort. The list is expansive, but I have spent the past decade exploring these, and countless more which I’ll discuss at length in this blog, through my own lived experience.
It is actually my personal belief that nearly all of the habitual patterns we fall into as humans are a bid either reproduce or to avoid suffering. No matter what we acquire overt course of our lives, we always want more. We spend much of our time wanting what we don’t have, or having what we don’t want.
From an evolutionary perspective, it makes sense for us to never be satisfied. This is the quality that constantly keeps striving for more, to avoid death and live in abundance. It’s an existential hamster wheel. But the first step is realising this truth, which this full website is dedicated to, so we can accept where we are and then decide on how we’re going to take action to do something about it.
Some vehicles may be a lifelong daily habit or tradition, and others may only serve to fulfil a specific function over a short period of time. Whatever they are, you can use this section of my blog to see what my experiences have been with said vehicles. You can then perhaps decide if they may be help you transcend whichever limiting life circumstances you may find yourself in.
